to customers around the globe, including many difficult regions.

IRVINE, CALIF. — MAY 23, 2017 — Technologent announced today that it is the winner of the 2017 Exporter of the Year award for Orange County, Calif., presented at the Orange County World Trade Week Breakfast & Forum on May 18. Women in International Trade Orange County and the U.S. Commercial Service nominated Technologent for the award.

“We are thrilled to have been recognized for our efforts to further develop our export capabilities in support of our customers with global footprints,” said Technologent Founder & President Tom Gallaway. “Our international sales increased 275 percent year-over-year in 2016, with significant exports to India, the Philippines, the U.K., Canada, Australia, Germany, South Africa and Zambia, among others. We are very proud to receive this prestigious award celebrating those achievements.”

Technologent can export IT products to more than 20 countries through its local entities in Canada, Germany and India, and by partnering with importers of record in countries with particularly challenging requirements. The company has also registered for the VAT in Australia, Canada, Germany and the U.K., and effectively moved freight using triangulation and zero-rate measures.

In addition, Technologent currently can complete transactions in six currencies, including the Canadian dollar, Euro, British pound, Indian rupee, Australian dollar and Malaysian ringgit, and will be adding more currencies as needed. This capability supports customers that require invoicing and payment in their local currency.

“Our international logistics team has worked very hard to understand the import restrictions of other countries as well as IRS and other U.S. requirements that exporters must follow,” Gallaway said. “The export of IT products can be especially challenging, but we have streamlined the process to require minimal involvement from our customers.”

The Greater Irvine Chamber of Commerce produces the Orange County World Trade Week Breakfast & Forum in collaboration with key sponsors and partners. In its third year, this preeminent event has continued to grow in response to the vital role of Irvine and Orange County in the economies of California and the U.S. as a whole. Trade in Irvine/Orange County goods and services fuels more than $19 billion in exports annually, representing 11 percent of California's export economy.
